Greater White-fronted Goose

Anser albifrons

This arctic goose displays a white patch, borded by a black stripe, at the base of its bill. The rest of its body is greyish-brown, and variations can be observed between the tundra and taiga populations; taiga birds are larger, darker in colour, and have less obvious white barring on their wings and back.
