Evening Grosbeak

Coccothraustes vespertinus

Often observed at winter birdfeeders throughout southern Canada, the male of this species exhibits a brilliant yellow forehead stripe and a yellow body, which contrasts with its black tail and wingtips and grayish-black head and neck.
