Northern Bobwhite

Colinus virginianus

The Canadian range of this quail is limited to southern Ontario, where it can be found roosting in coveys outside of nesting season. The male northern bobwhite sports a black and brown eye stripe on a white head, white the female has a duller brown eye stripe on a buff-coloured head.
