Rose-breasted Grosbeak

This bird is quite different in appearance from other grosbeaks; the male has a black back, white underbelly, and red breast when breeding. Its black feathers dull to a dark gray colour in winter. Rose-breasted grosbeaks are found in open, second-growth forests throughout central and eastern Canada.
