Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Regulus calendula

This small, plump bird is a dusky gray above, with a yellow-gray underbelly. The male is distinguishable by its red crown. The ruby-crowned kinglet is an active, nervously energetic bird, which quickly flicks its wings while calling.
