White-breasted Nuthatch

The white-breasted nuthatch is often found flocking with chicadies and kinglets in winter. In southeastern Canada, this species tends to inhabid deciduoous woodlands; in the southwest, it prefers conifers. Like other nuthatches, the whitebreasted nuthatch is an acrobatic climber of tree trunks, where it finds its food.
