The red-eyed vireo is dfficult to distinguish from other vireos, but can be identified bythe black and white streaks above the eye, and by the ruffled head feathers it adopts in the breeding season. Although the red-eyed vireo is found across most of southern Canada, this species is more common in the eastern part of its range.
