Anticosti Aster

Aster anticostensis

This perennial plant is found only in New Brunswick and Quebec. It grows in limestone along the banks of fast-flowing rivers. Cottage development and vehicle traffic pose threats to the plant. Quebec currently has a recovery program underway, while the species is protected by the Endangered Species Act in New Brunswick.
