Sweet Pepperbush

Clethra alnifolia

The sweet pepperbush is a woody shrub found on Nova Scotia. It flowers from late August to mid-October. One of the habitat sites is on private land threatened with cottage development. Two more sites are on crown land and fall within the scope of the Forest/Wildlife Guidelines and Standards for Nova Scotia, which restrict but do not necessarily prevent forestry activities within 20 m of a lake.
