Atlantic Whitefish

Coregonus huntsmani

The Atlantic whitefish is found only in southern Nova Scotia. Competition from introduced species, acidification of waterways, and placement of dams, pose significant threats. Poaching and accidental catches of Atlantic whitefish continue to be a problem.
