Western Blue Flag

Iris missouriensis

In Canada, the western blue flag is found in southern Alberta and in central British Columbia. This perennial plant inhabits moist meadows and streambanks. The blue flag is threatened by habitat loss, drainage, and overgrazing. No protection or recovery plan exists for the species.
