Engelmann's Quillwort

Isoetes engelmannii

In Canada, Engelmann's quillwort is found in only two locations in southern Ontario. One location has about 50 plants, while the other has about 300. Both populations are found in waterways where the water flow is regulated either for flood control or for electrical power generation. Habitat destruction is the main threat to this species, and no specific protection exists for it.
