Canada's Species   Species at risk

Small-flowered Lipocarpha

Lipocarpha micrantha

This small annual sedge has a vast distribution range from southern British Columbia and Ontario, all the way to the Galapagos Islands. It grows on wet, sandy shorelines in areas subject to flooding. Loss of habitat is the major threat for this species, which has already been extripated from Quebec due to polluted waters.
