Black Redhorse

Moxostoma duquesni

The black redhorse is found in southwestern Ontario, in medium-size rivers of the Great Lakes basin. Its spawning habitat has been destroyed by dam-building. Black redhorse is one of several fish species being addressed under a recovery plan for the Grand River watershed in southwestern Ontario.
