Plymouth Gentian

Sabatia kennedvana

In Canada, the Plymouth gentian only occurs in Nova Scotia. It is a perennial which flowers from mid-July to mid-September. Destruction or modification of habitat, due primarily to cottage development, continues to threaten the gentian. Other threats include the trampling of plants by off-road vehicles, control of water levels by dams and other structures, and collection of plants by the public.
