Woolly Chroogomphus, Woolly Pine Spike

This yellow-orange edible mushroom is found in the coniferous forests of western Canada in autumn, especialy in alpine habitats. Its prefered hosts are Douglas fir and hemlock. The cap is dry and covered with small hairs.
