Redbelly Snake

The redbelly is fairly short snake, reaching no more than 40.6 centimenters. It is fairly dark, being either brown, gray or black, with a 4 dark longitudinal lines and a red or orangish belly. It can be distinguished by the three light "diamonds" on its neck, one in the center and one on each side. Found only in clearings and bushy areas, its diet consists mainly of slugs and earthworms.
