Chestnut-collared Longspur

Calcarius ornatus

The chestnut-collared longspur is a small, distinctively-coloured bird found primarily in the prairie provinces. A combination of white, black streaks, and yellow chin contrast with the brown body and cinnamon back-of-neck of the male, while the female is a mottled brown.
