House Finch

This finch, distinguishable by its brown cap and red facial streak, throat and breast, is native to western North America. A population of house finches was introduced into eastern North America in the 1940s, however, and the range of this population is steadily expanding. House finches are a common site in suburban residential areas and parkland.
