Horned Lark

Eremophila alpestris

The horned lark is distinguished from others of its family by its black "horns," tufts of feathers above its eyes. Although there are several subspecies of horned lark, all adult males of the species display this characteristic, along with a black "bib" and a black stripe below the eye.
