Pelagic Cormorant

Phalacrocorax pelagicus

The pelagic cormorant is a permanent and common resident of the British Columbia coast. It is said to be the deepest diver among all the cormorants. It inhabits coastal saltwater areas, nesting along sandbars, rocky islands, and sometimes even on man-made structures. Pelagic cormorants tend to use rocky cliffs for nesting far more commonly than other cormorants.
