Canada's Species   Species at risk

Bering Wolffish

Anarhichas orientalis

The Bering wolffish lives in the Northwest Territories of Canada. It is a bottom dweller that seems to prefer shallow coastal waters, with rocky bottoms covered with algae. The limiting factors for this species are not known. Its habitat requirements are very specific, and there are few locations where the habitat requirements are met, which may restrict the distribution of the species. It currently receives no protection.
