Green Dragon

Arisaema dracontium

In Canada, the green dragon is found in southern Ontario and southwestern Quebec. This perennial herb grows in damp forests or along streams and flowers in May and June. The main limiting factor for the green dragon is the destruction or modification of habitat due to residential, industrial, and recreational development. An extensive recovery effort has been in place since 1992 to save the species.
