Climbing Prairie Rose

Rosa setigera

In Canada, the prairie rose occurs only in southwestern Ontario. It grows in old fields, usually in moist, heavy soils, but it will also grow on porous, shallow soils. Agricultural development is causing significant habitat loss, which is the main limiting factor for the rose.
