Scarlet Ammania

Ammannia robusta

In Canada, the scarlet ammania is found in the Osoyoos Lake area of southcentral British Columbia, and in Essex County in extreme southwestern Ontario. This annual plant varies greatly in height between 5 to 100cm. In Ontario in 1997, only one of the five known sites had plants. In both locations, high water levels are the main problem facing the scarlet ammania, which has no specific protection in Canada.
