Deltoid Balsamroot

Balsamorhiza deltoidea

In Canada, the deltoid balsamroot only occurs on the southeastern portion of Vancouver Island. It is usually found in rocky, exposed areas containing garry oak, or in open meadows near the ocean. Habitat destruction, aggressive invasion of exotic species, and fire suppression are all threats to the deltoid balsamroot. No specific legislation exists to protect rare and endangered vascular plants in British Columbia.
