Canada's Species   Species at risk

Long's Braya

Braya longii

The Canadian distribution of Long's braya is limited to the Sandy Cove of Newfoundland, which has tundra-like vegetation with well-drained, calcium-rich soils. A large amount of this habitat has been destroyed for use in local construction projects, and is a serious threat to the survival of Long's braya. It is not currently protected by legislation.
