Juniper Sedge

Carex juniperorum

In Canada, the juniper sedge is unique to southeastern Ontario, occuring only in the Salmon River Alvar in Lennox and Addington County. The expansion of a quarry and grazing in the area are the main threats to the species, which receives no specific protection, and all known populations are on private land.
