Gravel Chub

Erimystax x-punctatus

In Canada, the gravel chub was found only in one river drainage of southwestern Ontario. It inhabited rivers that have a permanent flow, that are clear to slightly turbid, and that have bottoms free of silts and clays. All attempts to collect specimens have been unsuccessful since the 1970s.
