Paddlefish

Polyodon spathula

In Canada, paddlefish were once found in the Great Lakes, but none have been seen in 70 years. They are still found in the Mississippi River drainage system. In Canada, paddlefish inhabited inshore areas of the Great Lakes and required access to large rivers to spawn.
