Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus

Opuntia humifusa

The eastern prickly pear cactus is a low succulent plant, which does not tolerate shade. In Canada, it only occurs in Point Pelee National Park and in three other southwestern Ontario locations. Loss of habitat is the most important limiting factor for the eastern prickly pear cactus.
