Prothonotary Warbler

Protonotaria citrea

The prothonotary warbler is extremely rare in Canada. Current Ontario breeding locations are limited to Rondeau Provincial Park in Kent County and to Hahn Marsh at Long Point. Habitat loss and disturbance, such as cutting of trees and filling-in of swamps for agricultural purposes, are major limiting factors.
