Canada's Species   Species at risk

Sage Thrasher

Oreoscoptes montanus

The range of this species reaches slightly into western Canada from the U.S., where it inhabits sagebrush plains. It falls into the family of mimic thrushes, and is therefore known for its warbling song, its long tail, and its drab (russet brown) colouration. This species feeds on insects, seeds and berries.
