Blue Walleye

Stizostedion vitreum glaucum

Also known as the blue pike, the blue walleye was found in lakes Ontario and Erie and in the Niagara River. Once abundant, the walleye became extinct by 1965 from overfishing. There was no protection specific to the blue walleye in Canada.
