Canada's Species   Species at risk

Wood Poppy

Stylophorum diphyllum

This perennial plant was thought to be extirpated until it was recently discovered near London, Ontario. It lives in damp, rich soil, on highly sloped hillsides. The species' survival depends on this one known population, which is on private land and is being protected and closely watched.
