Eastern Yellow-bellied Racer

Coluber constrictor flaviventris

The eastern yellowbelly racer is a large, long and slender snake whose Canadian distribution is limited to south central Saskatchewan. It inhabits prairies, pastures, old fields, and open woods during the summer and hibernates in soft soil, sometimes with rattlesnakes, during the winter. It is illegal to kill eastern yellow-belied racers under the Saskatchewan Wildlife Act.
