Pacific Giant Salamander

Dicamptodon tennebrosus

Only reaching the very most southwestern part of British Columbia, this big salamander can grow to lengths of up to 30.5 cm. It is active during day and nighttime. Its habitat consists of streams, seepages and around mountain lakes, typically within forests. Giant salamanders can sometimes be found climbing trees or bushes.
