Macoun's Meadowfoam

Limnanthes macounii

Macoun's meadowfoam is a small annual plant found only on Vancouver Island. It grows in open areas, close to the shore of the Pacific Ocean, that are wet in the winter and dry in the summer. That fact that this plant grows in waterfront areas with a mild climate put it in direct competition with residential and commercial waterfront development projects. There is no protection specific to Macoun's meadowfoam.
