Hare-footed Locoweed

Oxytropis lagopus

The Canadian populations of hare-footed locoweed occur in a very restricted area of ridges and hills around the western section of North Milk River in Alberta. Extraction of gravel from locations that make up the plant's habitat is the biggest limiting factor for the locoweed. It has no legal protection, although a decision has been made to end gravel extraction at one site.
