Eastern Prairie White Fringed Orchid

Platanthera leucophaea

In Canada, the eastern prairie white-fringed orchid occurs in southern Manitoba and southern Ontario. Habitat destruction or modification, due to urban development, agriculture, railroad and highway developments, changes in the water levels of wetlands, and drainage of wetlands, is the main limiting factor. Collection for personal or commercial use is also a limiting factor, especially for small populations.
