Golden Crest

Lophiola aurea

Golden crest is a perennial herb found in Nova Scotia. It appears in habitats that feature regular disturbances such as flooding and infertile substrate, which prevent more aggressive plants from invading the area and outcompeting the golden crest. Destruction of this habitat due primarily to cottage development is the main limiting factor for the species.
