Nooksack Dace

Rhinicththys sp.

In Canada, the Nooksack dace is confined to four small streams tributary to the Nooksack River in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Habitat loss due to accelerating urbanization is the greatest threat to the species It has no special legal protection, but the action of the British Columbia government to protect the endangered salish sucker is also benefiting the Nooksack dace.
