Crooked-stemmed Aster

Aster prenanthoides

In Canada, the crooked-stemmed aster is only found in southwestern Ontario. Currently, 22 known populations are found along the banks of streams and creeks draining into the north shore of Lake Erie. These locations are not suitable for agriculture, but are still threatened by clearcutting of the surrounding forests. The plant has no legal protection at this time.
