Dwarf Hackberry

Celtis tenuifolia

In Canada, the dwarf hackberry occurs only in southern Ontario in open areas where the substrate is sandy, and where the climate is influenced by the moderating effects of the Great Lakes. Successional changes in vegetation are the main source of habitat change that is having an adverse effect on the species. In Canada, there is no protection specific to the dwarf hackberry.
